COSMO VITELLI (I'm a Cliché)
French DJ, Cosmo Vitelli, was born in Paris but spent his first 8 years in Africa.
In the mid 90’s, he got involved in different french indie bands, playing both guitar and bass. He soon felt attracted by the raising parisian electronic scene (later called « French touch ») and became DJ and producer.
He signed on the Parisian label Solid (with fellows Air, Etienne De Crecy, Alex Gopher…) and released an LP, « Video » in 1998, and many singles like the acclaimed « We don’t need no smurf here », « Party Day », « Robot soul » or « Icons ».
His long awaited second LP, « Clean », finally came out in 2003 through Labels/Virgin ( and Astral Werks in the USA). Then, he spent time touring as DJ in Europe, Japan, Russia, South America, and remixed the likes of Daft Punk, Simian Mobile Disco, Cassius, Super Discount, Benjamin Diamond, Electronicat, Lacquer, The Film, Rodion, etc…
In 2004, he created his own label, « I’m a cliché » and released singles of such established artsits as Simian Mobile Disco, Tactee (TTC)l, Yuksek or Dirty 30. Alongsinde, he kept on producing for other labels like Source, Kitsune or Marketing.
His main project at the moment is Bot'Ox , a duo formed with [T]ékël’s Julien Briffaz, wich next single, « Babylon By Car » is released by american label DFA(The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem).
